  • A Mistake

I quit my job at Albertsons. I took a shift as an unarmed security guard. They told me it would be easy to get 40 hours a week. So, I went ahead and quit my job at Albertsons. I pictured myself working during the week and the weekend. I found out all of my hours are during the weekend, so far. I could have been pushing carts at Albertsons all of this time. Well, I went and tried to get my job back at Albertsons. They let me put in a two week notice instead. I put it in, and so I am going to try one more time to get back on the schedule at Albertsons. I am still getting paid. I will get 40 hours a week, for sure. But I just pictured it being different for some reason.

Well, anyways. How are you doing? I hope you are doing well. I have been, other than working my job, playing a new computer game I bought some time a go. It is called “RimWorld”. Pretty intricate little game. You start with three colonists, who have crash landed from space onto RimWorld. Then, you build from scratch everything, a Barracks, a stockpile. Eventually, after several restarts I got a good little colony going. My colonists have been going at it for a while now, and I now have six colonists. The stockpile is growing, and I can make caravans to sell what we have. Pretty exciting. I wish I had screen shots to share. But not this time.

What do you know, I did manage to upload a screenshot.

There is a second screen shot. Maybe this is enticing to you. All of the little details in the game make it fun. I even had a battle. A warg killed and ate my Yorkshire terrier. So, I mustered all of my colonists, except for Herbert who was off on a Caravan, and attacked the warg. One problem I am having is feeding my animals. So I keep getting an Animal Starvation debuff. I tried making a spot for hay and kibble, but that did not work.

Something about me, is that I was homeschooled. My Mom, a teacher, decided to homeschool me. She claims she wanted to homeschool before I was even born. So, me and my brother were both homeschooled. This ended up being a good way to go. But today, people are trying to mass hysteria people into homeschooling. It is understandable, of course. Homeschooling involves a lot of resources and time. I recommend homeschooling. It took my Mom a lot of effort to match the Public Schools in terms of what we were learning. Eventually, we got a curriculum called Christian Liberty Academy, where we were a “satellite school”. But we still did school at home. I think the switch was more of a struggle than I realized it would be. I remember math was extremely hard, though the math book was short. My Dad and me were up until midnight solving quadratic formulas. But on the other hand, when it came to History I could just ingulf myself with it. So, it worked out, because although I struggled with math, I was able to study my passion which was history. Still, I can remember sitting there, in the school room, September 1, 1998 when I began High School. I thought to myself, “This school is the first thing that I do that matters”. After that, the pressure was on. Ultimately, I thought homeschooling was tough and challenging. But if you stick with it it is worth it. That is all.
