  • An Eve Online Walkthrough

I like to play Eve Online. I have been playing for years. Sometimes, I leave Eve, but then I come back. Right now the subscription is free. So, I like that. I could upgrade to Omega, which is a paid subscription. You can also get PLEX and use that. PLEX stands for Pilot License Extension.

Here is my ship. I like to fly a Tristan and here is a screenshot of it.

That is the front end of the Tristan. I am just going from asteroid fields and looking for “rats”. Which patrol the various asteroid fields.

Here is the aft portion of the Tristan. Very neat ship to fly. It is a frigate. Eve is a very fun game to play. In Eve though, a part of the experience is getting your ship blown up. I am on my third Tristan. RIP other Tristans. I did my eighth mission.

This is me in my Venture. Another frigate, used for mining. I completed my eighth mission, so I had a storyline mission that involved mining veldaspar. So, when that happens I pull out my venture. It is fun to drive too. I have also had a number of ventures blown up, because I flew them into low security and null security sectors. One day, I will have to show you the Eve Map. It is very intriguing. There are actually two different versions of the map. One is the classic star map, and now you have another map made by CCP. I like the detail of Eve. But the question has been asked, is Eve just a game? I am not so certain. Sometimes it feels like an experiment. But I enjoy it right now.

I shared my YouTube of me flying a Vexor. This is on an older account. I no longer really play on that account. Unlike my new account, my older account still has the Pilot License.

What makes Eve exciting, to me is the mystery involved. It is based in space, to so the area of Tranquility is gigantic. There is always something to do. The Social Interactions are different from those in say World of Warcraft. The combat system is very interesting, forcing you to target your opponent instead of just attacking. To attack, you need to target whatever you are trying to attack, first. Then, you can attack.

There is also a variety of activities to do in Eve Online. You can Explore, which includes surveying, and finding anomalies. You can do mining, which doesn’t seem exciting, but is very profitable over time. Another thing you can do is you can do missions, and when you do the missions it is worth it to salvage the wrecks. Also you can fly around the asteroid fields looking for “rats” and attack them. There are also combat sites you can run to. Another great salvage opportunity. Right now, I am in a corporation, but I am the only active player. I don’t know where the others all went too. Maybe they are just on other accounts. Anyways, I thought I would just share my thoughts on it and see if anyone might be interested in trying Eve.

Here is the website for Eve Online: https://www.eveonline.com/. It is free to play, unless you make an Omega account. The free account is known as an Alpha account. If you are interested in playing, and need some help just look up ermcool/Eric McCarty. Hope you enjoyed this brief walkthrough.
