  • The Rise Of Islamophobia In Texas

Governor Greg Abbott has had numerous battles to fight, over the last four years- not including re-election to his current term and the Texas Border Crisis. He actually, went above and beyond during COVID and the ensuing Biden years, to keep Texas healthy and growing. But a rising concern in Texas, is clearly the potential for Shariah Law to enter the courts of Texas. We don’t want or need that here!

The other day I saw a headline which read “Greg Abbott Wants To Ban Shariah Law”, but it turns out Shariah Law is already banned in Texas. Here is an article I found from 2017 about the subject. The article comes from CBN.

If you click on the image, the link will take you to the article. Its fascinating, how in 2015 they had tried to pass such a bill in Texas, but if failed. So, this is the second time that the Texas Legislature has passed such a bill. Eleven states have such bans imposed. Every state should impose such a ban. We don’t need, and we don’t want Islamic law filtering into our courts. It is already happening in Great Britain.

Islamic law does not align with the United States Constitution, that is the reason why. They practice Shariah Law in such countries as Iran, and Afghanistan.

This article was a bit more recent. It from May 16, 2024. It was more about how an Islamic group is suing Abbott for “singling out” pro-Hamas groups on Universities. In light of the recent violence towards the Jews in the Netherlands, I think Abbott is setting a good precedence. But does he stand alone? Texans ought to be more concerned about the governing of our state, especially when foreign laws try to sneak there way in. Another man’s protest, might be another man’s way of sneaking such into the courts of Texas. This is the History so far in Texas in the struggle against foreign laws invading our courts, due to “globalization”. Don’t let them undermine our freedoms, and those of our grand children’s. As President Ronald Reagan once rightly put, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction”. America is our last, and best hope for freedom.

We can see the rise of Islamic courts overseas, in Europe, so we know where that leads too. Just like Communism its another foreign influence.

  • I Am Not Reading A Book

    Daily writing prompt
What book are you reading right now?

However, I just finished 41: A Portrait of My Father, by President George W. Bush. Bush was actually a pretty good writer, I thought. He noted at the beginning of the book that his book was subjective, rather than objective, about his father. I recommend reading it, it was pretty good.

  • Discouragement

I shared Psalm 1 not because I want to sound Holy, or righteous. Righteousness comes through Jesus, after all. But rather, to show you, or others that I turn to the Bible, and Jesus when I am discouraged. This is important to me, and today Psalm 1 just seemed like the perfect fit. I have gotten people confused sometimes, they thought my posting scripture was to be hypocritical, or to sound holy. This is a misunderstanding. I included a Psalm from the Psalms Project that I am listening too. Just listen to it- and understand how uplifting the scriptures are, in light of God’s provision for us.

  • Psalm 1

If you have followed my blog at all, you know I have reason for discouragement. When I get discouraged, I know to turn to the Lord. I am turning to the Lord- because I want Him to direct my path. I have posted this Psalm before I am sure- but it means so much to me.

When I was a kid, my family would sing this Psalm, from the Psalter. So, here it is:

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the person who does not follow the advice of wicked people, take the path of sinners, or join (sit) in the company of mockers.

2 Rather he delights in the teachings of the LORD, and reflects on his teachings day and night.

3 He is like a tree planted beside the streams-

a tree that produces fruit in season and whose leaves do not wither.

He succeeds in everything he does.

4 Wicked people are not like that.

Instead, they are like husks that the wind blows away.

5 That is why wicked people will not be able to stand in the judgment

and sinners will not be able to stand where righteous people gather.

6 The LORD knows the way of righteous people,

but the way of the wicked people will end.

This is how I know everything will be alright. I am nervous about going to school again. But I know I can be excited- because God will take care of me. I worry, yes, but I have my Master and my Friend- the Lord Jesus to comfort me, and to encourage me along the path that I believe God has set for me. If it is God’s will- He will make a path. I believe it is His will. Know doubt. A burning desire to finish school burns within me. I have learned a lot during my hiatus. I have learned to lean on Him. Always. God bless you, and thank you for reading my blog.

I decided to include Psalm 1 here, from the Psalms Project. It is very good. Enjoy!!

  • Advising and a Citation

I went to UTA today and got advising done. Alexa Rains was my advisor this time. She was about to enroll me in classes. Unfortunately, it turns out I have a Satisfactory Academic Progress hold on my account. So, she explained she had to e-mail someone to lift the hold. But she said on Monday, she will update me on the classes. I am looking forward to it. She will e-mail me. I had a great line up, including the Phil 2311 course, and the Russian Culture class.

Well, I left a bit disappointed that I had not been enrolled. But excited because I did get advising done. I know what I need now. But as I got in my car, I was surprised to see a slip beneath my wind shield wiper blade. “Yikes” I thought. So, I went and grabbed it. Sure enough, I had been cited for parking without a permit. But it was kind of confusing to me- the sign at the front said, “Permit or Pay parking only” So, I went and paid. I thought I would be ok once I had paid. But I guess not.

I was on the way to the UTA Parking Office to appeal. But they want the appeal submitted online. So, I had to submit a picture of my citation, and a screenshot of my receipt with HONK, for my parking bill. I explained there, what I just explained here. Basically, that I thought if I paid I could park there. It will take three weeks for the appeal, during which time I can still buy a parking permit. Since I am planning to go full time, I will do exactly that. It was a productive day, but also a day filled with frustration at getting a parking citation.

I was going to include the picture and the screenshot but I decided not to, because of personally identifiable information. Maybe, if my appeal gets approved I will share that.

  • The Swamp Strikes Back!!!

Disgruntled by there defeat this November, the powers that be have picked a fight with First Baptist at Dallas church. I opened my UTA e-mail, and found this note from First Baptist Dallas:

You may have seen in the media that a lawsuit was filed against First Baptist Dallas involving allegations of sexual abuse between two minors. Below is the statement we have issued in response to the lawsuit:

First Baptist Church of Dallas categorically denies any allegations of impropriety. The alleged incident involved sexual activity between two male teenage parishioners. Immediately upon learning of the subject allegation, it was reported to the necessary applicable law enforcement agencies. After extensive investigations, including interviews with eyewitnesses, each law enforcement agency indicated this was consensual sexual activity and closed any and all respective cases. – First Baptist Church of Dallas

It sounds like a setup to me. They are ramping up the persecution of the First Baptist of Dallas Church. That is Dr. Robert Jeffress church.

  • God Saved A Wretch Like Me

    A Meme Worth Sharing

The wording comes from “Amazing Grace”. I saw this on Facebook, and just had to share it. Why? Because I owe all to God. He took care of me at the VA, He was the one who was watching over me in Washington, and on the drive back too!!! Praise God. I wanted to share this good news, because I care about you- turn to Jesus, He will take care of you too!!!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
  • Blood Draw

Today, I didn’t get as much done as I would have liked. I was off today, and that was alright. I went to the VA Clinic over on Loop 820. My Doctors have been telling me they need to see my vitals. So, I obliged, and used my day off at the VA. But it didn’t take as long as I might have expected. They got me in, and got me out. Neat. President elect-Trump is not even in office, yet things are already running smoothly. I guess this time- the Government realizes that Trump is the people’s choice.

After I got done with my blood draw was when it happened. I had a clear view in front of me, and nobody was in the parking spot in front. So, I thought- why not? So, I pulled forward- and went over the cement stopper in front of me. I didn’t see it, obviously. So, I checked for damage, and didn’t see any. Then, I backed up, over the cement stopper. I guess I just was lucky, because nothing was still broken. But on the way back to the house, I could hear something skidding/bouncing along underneath. I thought it might be the tire. So, I took it to Discount Tire and had them look at it.

Silly me, it was the plastic cover that was dragging, it turned out. But no internal damage- God was watching over me. So, I thanked the Discount Tire employee, and went on my way. I ate at Colter’s BBQ, and got the sandwich platter. I sat next to an attorney who was talking to his client, it seemed. So, I ate, but I could hear them talking. It appeared that the attorney had injured his arm somehow, as he was wearing a brace.

After eating, I went home and waited for my Dad to get home. I just laid there on the couch and rested for a while. My Dad came in, and I explained what happened. So, my Dad said he would be out, and went to the bathroom. I went outside, and smoked while I waited for Dad to inspect the damage (it is still in his name). After a few minutes, Dad started messing around in the garage, and he pulled out these two stanchions that you can drive the car up on.

I drove up, and over the stanchions, which I expected would happen. I just do not do well, when it comes to cars. But my Dad is an expert. He went and bought a jack, a nice solid one. It took a minute to get it working, but one by one we were able to remove each of the stanchions, and this time my Dad drove the car onto them. Dad ended up using zip ties to temporarily hold the plastic part, and keep it from dragging. To be continued. But Dad noticed that the front bumper had come lose as well.

So, Dad wanted to take the car to Jalisco Auto and Body Paint. He knows the man who owns it, and Dad wanted him to inspect the car and see if he could tighten up the bumper. So, we drove out to Kenedale.

The man looked at the bumper, and began taking things a part. My Dad tried helping. Then, after a while he figured out a way to tighten up the bumper, at least temporarily. So, now I can drive around and I don’t have a huge piece of plastic dragging, and the bumper isn’t going to fall off suddenly. Also, the man didn’t charge us anything for his time. Which is why I included his information here.

    Trump Hat

That is right, I now have an official Trump hat!!! It is golden.

I stopped by Mom’s house and had some salmon. Joey made the salmon. It was delicious. I meant to bring this hat with me. I didn’t, so I just showed her this picture, while we were eating, and watching The Five on Fox News. Then, I drove home and accepted my admissions to University of Texas at Arlington. But I regret that I was unable to get advising done, today so I could start signing up for classes.

Well, that is all for now. Basically I got very little done today, and it was my own fault. Oh, well, maybe I will be off tomorrow as well. I will get advising done if so. I ate salmon with Mom, and it turned out to be delicious. Other than that, not much happened today. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog!!!
