Philippians 4:4 Always be joyful in the Lord! I’ll say it again: Be joyful!
Philippians was written by the Apostle Paul. He wrote it from prison. Yet, it is considered the “Book of Joy”! But what is this joy about? It is about our salvation. This joy is not just something we produce in response, but is also imparted to us from the Holy Spirit.
Context, or the “Big Picture”
Sometimes, you will see me mention the word context. Or maybe you have seen me say, “The Big Picture”. Thats a phrase I picked up in the NAVY as a GCCSM tech. We always would focus on the big picture, and keeping the big picture available to all ranks of people in the NAVY. The Bible has a context, or a “Big Picture”.
I am only sharing one verse. But sometimes, when I see a meme, or a scripture on Facebook, or share one, I will be asked why I share one scripture and not another. My answer to them is, “Why not just share the whole Bible”. But everyone has a favorite verse that sticks out to them. My favorite verse is John 3:16 For God so loved the World that He sent His only begotten Son into the world, that whoever believe on Him will not perish, but have eternal life. See how it sticks out to me.
Maybe there is a scripture that sticks out to you, as well. I believe the whole Bible is important, yet I share only a portion of scripture. Yet, even Jesus Himself, would share portions of scripture to illustrate His point. He knew, and His listeners knew there was a context to scripture. That context is the Gospel, or the Goodness of Jesus.
So, we know that Paul in Philippians discussed salvation previously, to this verse. So, we can tell, without quoting those scriptures that Paul is telling us to rejoice in our Salvation. In other words, we can have Faith that we are saved. This is why sometimes, I just quote one verse, and use it because the context, or Big Picture, of scripture is always the same.
I just finished watching the betrayal of Jesus, in The Chosen, with my Dad, and thought to write this scripture. I explained the context, and who it is who provides the joy for us! We alone, cannot produce the peace of Jesus, but the Holy Spirit does that. So, just as He produces the Peace of Jesus, He also produces the joy in our salvation! See how, we don’t have to have all the answers!

Hobby Lobby
My Dad suggested that I apply to work at Hobby Lobby. One reason why, is because they are closed on Sundays. So, I went and asked if they were hiring. The cashier turned to her manager, and the manager said they were not hiring. Nevertheless, so they know I want to work there, I am going to bring my resume over, and give it to the manager. The Christmas season is coming up.
Prior to going to Hobby Lobby, I went to Batteries Plus again. I paid for the battery I ordered. I did not figure out when it comes in, but the lady I talked to mentioned something about Friday. So, I will check back on Friday. I am on a quest to reconnect with some old friends. To tell them, of the story, where God answered my prayer. The one I prayed at the House of Prayer, with them. I have not spoken to them, in about 10 years. I wonder how they are doing?
Well, I just thought I would provide an update to my blog. Here it is, almost Tuesday in a few minutes. I hope this post finds you all well.
