President Donald J. Trump

Daily writing prompt
If you could meet a historical figure, who would it be and why?

So, I could tell him of the evolution of my support for him as President. I don’t believe that Trump was planning to run for President for 20 years. I think something happened, that set him off. I remember learning about Trump when I was a kid. I did wonder, “Why doesn’t he run for President”? But I just figured he was to busy. Then, because of Trump I came up with this neat idea for a hotel. I will tell you about it, sometime.

Then, when I was about 30 years old, stationed in San Diego. I went to church, and met this lady there. I call her “The Candidate”. She said she was interested in running for an office in Arlington, or San Diego. That is why, because I never got her name. She got drunk on half a near beer too. Anyways, she didn’t name Trump- but she described him to me, of him running for President. I remembered he had run before, but didn’t come close to getting the nomination. I believe he ran as a democrat at the time. Or an independent. After describing Trump, she paid for my meal, and left. It was at “The Flavors of East Africa” on University.

Well, anyways, time went on and I was deployed on USS Princeton. I was walking back to Radio, from either the Galley, or the Smoke pit, and I had this thought suddenly. I knew that Ted Cruz would campaign his heart out, no doubt about it. But even he could not beat Hillary. NO way- as it stood we were going to have eight years of her. It had to do with money- Ted Cruz did not have the money to beat her. But I realized, Trump did. Suddenly, I thought, “Yep, that would be perfect if Trump ran for President- he would beat her. He has the money, and a recognized name too”.

When Trump declared his candidacy in 2015, I was already out of the NAVY. I was in class at TCC, in Government. So, it was fitting that the Professor, Ms. Bowman, (who had a law degree, but was teaching government), announced that Trump had declared his candidacy, and that she wondered what the students thought. I didn’t say anything- but I was revealing in my shock and surprise. Remembering back to my thought on the Princeton- and here we go, it was happening.

I decided I had to make sure this was real. I decided during the Primary I would vote for Dr. Ben Carson. If things were different, I do think he would make a great President. But in today’s world, they would make mince meat of him, because he is to nice, to be dealing with the DemoKKKrats. Nevertheless, I needed to make sure this was really happening- the Trump Candidacy. I was excited as I left class. The future prospects were promising.

I never voted for Bush, and I never voted for Obama. Looking back, I wish I had voted for McCain Palin because, I really admire her. She kind of came out of nowhere, and needed support. But nevertheless, I didn’t vote all those years, until Trump was the Candidate for President in 2016. By then, I was attending classes at University of Texas at Arlington. But I remember going to vote at the South Campus TCC- casting my first Presidential ballot ever.

I remember going to Grease Monkey, after a class, and voting to watch the election unfold. But I didn’t stay the entire night. I went home, went to sleep, and prayed that Trump would win. When I woke up the next morning, Jack called me, and told me Trump had won! I was elated. It was exactly as I had seen it- there would be no Presidency for Hillary. She would not have been able to handle COVID. I remember how calm Trump was during that ordeal. He was at his best, I think. Thats why in 2020, I am pretty sure, Trump was cheated of the election. Other nations were looking to Trump, for some kind of guidance, of what to do, during the “plandemic”.

My final thoughts are, that I believe God chose Trump for this time. There is a verse in Esther which says “Chosen for just such a time as this”, that saying comes from scripture. Its a reminder that, when we face difficulties, and evil, God will provide, we don’t have to fear evil because of this. Its easy to forget, and even King David sometimes expressed not being able to see the hand of providence, in the Psalms. I believe by voting for Trump for a third time, in 2024 I was on the right side of History, for sure. Trump ended up sacrificing a lot to run for President- and if you ask me, Trump deserves a third term. God bless you- and thank you for reading my blog.
