Today, Scott and Steve came over, just before they head to California. What a blessing to see them. They came over, and drank coffee with me. We discussed the Ruckman Reference Bible, and also the Lexus they were driving. i think it belongs to there Mom. i told them to drive carefully. i cleverly asked if they were going to get a job in California. But they said “No”. So, i guess that means they will be returning to Texas. My Dad is with my brother at the farm. William and Dad are shooting there guns, and William brought his room mates to shoot as well. Mom, and me ate at The Cracker Barrel yesterday.
When Scott and Steve came over, i was pleasantly surprised by receiving a call from Scott. He told me they would come over. After they arrived, i told them i have to work tonight. They were so polite, and didn’t stay to long. But we talked for a while, and they drank a coffee with me. i was so glad to see them. If you see this, i send my greetings, Scott and Steve. Thank you so much for the cross and the Bible. Safe travels.
Today, my Dad and William went shooting out at the farm. Last night, i bought my Dad a Snickers bar to take with him to the farm. i am sure he was surprised by that. Dad brought his own gun with him. Maybe he is planning to make it out, hunting this year. A couple of William’s room mates also showed up, so i heard. It is neat that Dad made it out to the farm. Last spring, he was out there almost everyday. This year, i think it is the first time he has been out to the farm.
Mom too me to eat at Cracker Barrel. i wanted to either eat there, or the Boston Market. When we got to the Cracker Barrel, we had to circle back around. Neither of us could remember where the entrance was. Thinking we could find another entrance, we swang onto Frontage Road along I-20. But we had to drive completely back around. We got out of the car, and there were several people in front of us, to be seated. By the time we got to our seat though, the restaurant had cleared out a bit. Mom got a chicken fried steak, and i got chicken tenders, with fries and Macaroni and Cheese. It was so delicious, i ate almost every bite.
i wanted to share a couple of things from YouTube. The first thing i want to share is Civilization II’s version of Ode To Joy
i watched a movie. This is what came on, during one scene. So, i looked it up, and shared it with my Mom. i opened my browser to write to you. i saw that Ode To Joy was still up, and so i decided to share it. Originally, in the game, Ode To Joy would play during “We Love The King Day”, in your cities in Civilization II. It was so exciting when that happened.
i have to work tonight. i am still up because i watched this amazing video about John 17. It was very fascinating.
It is very encouraging and uplifting. Alan Horvath does quote Revelation a couple times. But i was able to follow along with what he was saying. Sometimes, i think we need stuff that is encouraging and uplifting. The name above all names, is JESUS. But my Mom explained a little bit about the name Jeshua once, when i was older. Alan talks about John chapter 17, where JESUS prays to the Father, before He is crucified.
i started a new book. The book is titled The Right Thing. It is by CMDR. Scott Waddle (Ret.). He wrote his account of what happened when his submarine, USS Greenville collided with a Japanese fishing boat off of Oahu. In it is a memorable quote by President George W. Bush.
“I know this fine American patriot feels terrible about what took place. It was a terrible accident. And like any good commander, he’s taken the heat, he’s taken the hit. I read in the newspaper that the man is actually going to go over to meet with some of the parents, which I took as an act of great compassion. This is an officer who bears all responsibility, and to me, that says something about the man’s character.”
-President George W. Bush
So, far, in the book i have read a lot about Mr. Waddle. He was raised as an Ai Force Brat. He wanted to fly, just as his father had done. He ended up being accepted at the Naval Academy and West Point. Before all this, the future Commander gave his life to JESUS. What a blessing to know this. A scripture i read this morning goes like this: Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
i just wanted to share that scripture, and the quote with you. The rest of my story is in my book. i still have not settled on a good title for my book. But i will find one.
