Work Today

That’s right. Today is another work day. i will continue guarding the warehouse tonight. i love my job. It is such a good job to have. i am considering taking a college class in the spring. i think my schedule can accommodate that. i just wanted to write, because i have been wanting to communicate some things.

i have begun applying for a new job. i am applying to be a Correctional Deputy with Pierce County. i took a Civil Service exam on Tuesday. This coming Wednesday i have a physical agility test to take. i decided to take it in Everett. Maybe i will get some pictures while i am there. i am only going to be there for two days. Only. i put only, because, well i grew up in Everett. So, naturally, i want to be there sometimes.

So far, i have completed every step of the program. For now, all that remains is to take, and pass a CPAT for Correctional Physical Agility Test. Originally, i had to do two assessments. Fill out my PHQ (Personal History Questionnaire). Then, take the Civil Service exam for Corrections. i took it in Lewisville. For the CPAT, they only offer it in two different locations: Phoenix, Arizona, or Everett, Washington. i chose Everett, Washington, because i have been wanting to go there. i already want to quit- i have second thoughts. But i am going to stick with it. To find out whether i even get hired.

Originally, i saw on Instagram. A plea by Pierce County for Correctional Deputies. They said they were undermanned. So, i was moved to apply. The job pays quite a bit more than what i get paid now. Plus, i would get to move to Washington. Western Washington, in the Pacific Northwest and with a view of Mt. Rainier. Sounds like a good deal to me. But i have some other things to sort out. According to a video, if all goes well, in three months i would get hired. But these are just the preliminary steps.

There is also a background investigation. A polygraph test will be conducted. An oral board. If i pass all that, a conditional offer to hire will be given. Then, i will have a Medical and phycological evaluation will be administered. Also, there would be lots of training to get through. But, if hired, i think i can handle it. i didn’t just put Pierce County on my application. i also put Snohomish County and Lewis County. They said in an e-mail, “Two job offers are better than one”.

Checking my e-mail, i see no more notifications from Pierce County on being hired as a Correctional Deputy. Maybe they found a more serious candidate. Anyways, i went out and smoked. I checked on Max too. i let him inside. Max is doing ok. He is still down stairs.
