Guess Where I Was Last Night?

i went to a very secret location the other day. It was the LOOK Cinema in East Dallas. It was quite an adventure to get there. i had to go to I-20, then over to 408 spur, 12 South, then i had to get off the Highway. i had to take the back roads a bit. i left with less than an hour to get there, with an estimated travel time of 37 minutes according to Google. But i got there, and made it with a few minutes to spare. So, i smoked a cigarette before heading in. Just what was i doing at LOOK Cinema? i was there to see a movie.

That is right. i found a free screening for the movie Woman King. i know, i know. There are other films about the Dahomey. Why this one? Because it was about there warrior women. It ended up being a very good film, it included themes, like training, and motherhood all throughout the film. Plenty of womanly themes, that are good for men to know about. i didn’t know that they had free screenings of movies till i found this one. It was very good, and i went with the Dallas Girl Gang. They gave me a free handbag as i went in, and as they scanned my QR code.

Here is what was in the bag. A pen, and drink holder. Also, some body spray.

My experience with LOOK Cinema left only one thing to be desired: i was unable to tip. Other than that, my experience was very good. i had to scan a QR code in order to bring up the menu, and food service. i ordered my favorite, pepperoni pizza, and of course, coffee. So, i was able to refresh while i watched the film. The film starred Viola Davis. An American Actress. She received the an Academy Award, an Emmy, and a Tony Award. She began acting in Rhode Island. She got her big breakthrough after school in 1993. Her Academy Award was for Best Supporting Actress.

The film was very emotional. It didn’t try and whitewash the Dahomey involvement in the slave trade. It actually depicts it in an opening scene. One of the warrior trainees comes from the captives.

Dad is still in the hospital. He is hoping to come home tomorrow. Well, today. This morning perhaps. Hopefully, he is doing well. Mom has been really uplifting about school, lately. She is clearly rooting for me. Well, that is all for now. Thank you Dallas Girl Gang for the movie.
